Målsetning

The course offers a basic understanding of measuring and analysing network quality. A good basic understanding is essential in order to recognise signals indicating incorrect connections and/or settings. Correct interpretation of signals can prevent costly mistakes.

Målgruppe

Installation managers, maintenance engineers, electrical engineers and energy consultants.

Kurset inneholder disse emnene

Basic terms

  • (T)RMS, Crest factor, peak values, average values, frequency
  • Safety (IEC61010-1), using pliers to take current readings, connecting voltage probes
  • Nominal voltage/current, effect (KW, KVA, KVAR), (non-) linear load)

Setting up network quality measuring

  • Instrument setup (relative values, limit values, networks, phases)
  • Instrument functions (scope-metre function, calibration, instrument class)

Interpreting and systematising readings in relation to the Quality of Supply directive and EN-50160 (including limits)

  • Temporary overvoltages and undervoltages
  • Flicker
  • Harmonic voltages (including THD, TDD, %)
  • Unbalance
  • Interruptions
  • Transients
